Iron Man 2

Iron Man 3:

Following the insanity in New York, what with the aliens and the wormhole in the sky, the United States Government decided that a re-branding of War Machine was in order. One red, white, and blue paint job later, and he became the Iron Patriot. (Not as catchy as War Machine, but it tested well, okay? It wasn't his choice. Don't look at him like that!)

With the Iron Patriot came a whole new set of responsibilities. He was basically in charge of flying over to Afghanistan and Pakistan and taking care of any enemy threats at a moment's notice. When they sent him to investigate a potential broadcasting location of the Mandarin, and what he found instead was a whole lot of trouble. After being captured by AIM and held hostage in his suit, he was then literally forced out of it. Don't worry though, he fought his captors and made it to (relative) safety with Tony. Who then took him on a speedboat ride to save the President, who was forced into the Iron Patriot suit.

Once Tony and Rhodey managed to find AIM's headquarters (on an oil rig off the coast, seriously?) and find the President, the two (mostly Rhodey) managed to sneak on and kick some serious ass before Tony's party of Iron Man suits came to help them. Rhodey helped the President out of the suit and flew him to safety. Since his primary goal is always to protect the President, he made sure the President was completely safe before trying to go back and help Tony. What? Tony had 42 suits with him. And Pepper. Everything ended up fine!

[Personality]

Rhodey always does the right thing. Always. He makes it his top priority to do what needs to be done, and if he trusts your judgement, he doesn't question you. When faced with a choice between doing something that would help him and help someone else, he'll always help someone else. He's always the guy to make the sacrifice play, particularly when it comes to people he cares for, like Pepper and Tony. And Happy. Can't forget Happy. Anyway, he'lll stay with you 'til the end of the line, and you better bet your ass that id he outlives you, he'll spend the rest of his life defending you to the press. He's always willing to help out the little man, especially those in dire need. He's what you might call a real-life superhero, if you wanted.

Some people (Tony) like to think of Rhodey as uptight, or too concerned with following the rules. And sure, sometimes he can get stuck in following the protocol, but it's pretty easy to get him to bend the rules, especially if it's to do the Right Thing. He realizes that the Rules and the Right Thing aren't always mutually exclusive, and it may take some convincing, but you can get him to. There's also talk about him being too Responsible or too Uptight. Yeah, maybe sometimes he gets a little tied up in doing things a certain way, or getting his work done before he can play. He, however, thinks he's a pretty easygoing guy, especially considering the crap he puts up with. Oh, your best friend gets trapped in a cave in Afghanistan and you don't find him for months? (And it's partly your fault that he got kidnapped, but no, Rhodey can't talk about that.) Oh, your best friend's dying of palladium poisoning but doesn't tell you? That's fine. He'll save your ass in the end. He'll always save your ass in the end, because that's Rhodey. Always there.

Well, mostly always. There are times that are few and far between where Rhodes will find himself....frustrated. It's difficult to be so highly-ranked in the military and be constantly worrying about the well-being of your best friend (especially when he gets kidnapped and spends his time flying missiles through wormholes). Sometimes Rhodey just can't do it. He has to separate himself from that, and so he'll disappear for awhile. Get really busy with work. He's not proud of it, and he's flooded with guilt every time he sees Tony after a few months, but it's the only way he knows how. And if Tony ever called him, even if he was busy and Tony needed help, he'd go. With no questions asked, he'd be there. Everyone needs a break every now and then. You can't fault him for being human.

Rhodey also has a pretty good sense of humor. He's smart-- you don't get to Lieutenant Colonel in the Airforce without being smart-- and he's quick on his feet. He excels at strategy. He's an all-around pretty good guy. He's got a temper that can come out sometimes, but he rarely gets violent. Usually he'll just yell and then have to go box or something. It's part of being frustrated with life most of the time, and he's come to accept it.

[Abilities]

He has no special abilities, per say (unless you count being able to talk sense into Tony Stark which, he does, by the way), but he does own a version of the Iron Man suit, "taken from" (it was totally given to him, okay?) Tony Stark during Iron Man 2. The suit has certain capabilities, such as flight, enhanced strength (up to 30 tons), repulsors, and a unibeam. It also contains an enhanced armory, complete with laser guided missiles and a minigun on the shoulder, outfitted by Justin Hammer. The armor probably wouldn't come with him, though.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] We'd just like to get an idea of why you wish to play this particular character. No need for anything lengthy, just a sentence or two will work (but giving us more than that is perfectly A-OK!). We will NOT judge applicants by how they respond to this question.
